Whether you pay the levy or not, Education Goals will assist you with your digital account administration, if required. If you are an employer with a pay bill of over £3 million per year, you will pay the apprenticeship levy. The levy is set at 0.5% of the value of your pay bill. You will also receive an allowance of £15,000 per financial year that can be offset against your levy payments. The funds generated by the levy can only be spent on apprenticeship training and assessment costs. The government will also top-up the funds you’ll pay by 10%. After paying your levy to HMRC, funds will be transferred to your digital apprenticeship service account. Once payments are transferred to your digital account, you can start pay for apprenticeships for your new or existing employees. You can even transfer some of your funds to non-levy-paying organisations to fund training for existing apprentices or new apprentices.
